Course Description

The Noble Canyon 50K will begin and end at the Pine Valley Protestant Bible Center (PVBC)located in Pine Valley, CA. The first mile will be on an dirt and asphalt road connecting the start line to the Noble Canyon trail head. Runners will need to stay to the right hand side of the road in single file for safety considerations.

The course then ascends on mostly single track trail for 10 miles to the Penny Pines (aid station 2) crossing of the Sunrise Highway. The first aid station is at 5.8 miles. Runners need to use extreme caution while crossing the Sunrise Highway. There will be a safety crossing volunteer to assist.

After crossing the Sunrise Highway, runners connect with the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). The course takes a sharp right turn onto the PCT within 100 yards of crossing Sunrise Highway. Look for the PCT trail markers....you will be running south on the PCT for just under 5 miles until you get to the Big Laguna Trail . The course then takes a sharp right onto the Big Laguna Trail. The aid station is within .6 miles of connecting with the Big Laguna Trail.

As soon as you leave the Big Laguna Lake Trail aid station, you will again cross Sunrise Highway and follow the course on single track and a short section of dirt road for 5.3 miles until returning to the Penny Pines aid station. The trail then back tracks down Noble Canyon for 10 miles to the finish line at the PVBC.

Course Marking:

The course is marked with orange ribbon streamers, flour (chalk), and some signs. Orange streamers will be more predominant when a turn is about to occur. As a general rule of thumb, runners should expect to see streamers no less than every 1/4 mile. Flour or chalk is used in areas where streamers cannot be hung due to the lack of trees.
